It's not a privilege to see a broker's certificate, you should always request this without any apprehension. Furthermore, if you plan on being covered by the policy, you should request a copy of an insurance certificate which evidences that the broker's e&o policy includes you as an additional insured.

Excellent advice from a reputable professional in the industry. "Build or Buy", i.e. ramp up a portfolio or buy an existing fund are two different entry strategies for investors. ISLSP has recently held three free webinars with industry experts highlighting what institutional investors need to be aware of, including updated information on taxation. Recent investor meetings in the States and in Europe prooved that investors willing to deploy capital are more open to invest in well structured open ended LS funds. ISLSP is currently performing a global study on more than 30 ls funds. We provide indipendent non commercial advice through our international network of professionals.

If someone wants to invest with life settlement backed investments, and their money comes in from a non-qualified annuity, would they qualify for a 1035 exchange? I am working on a case like this right now and the annuity company is asking why kind of account the money is going to and also asking for 1035 paperwork. A always thought it was "like kind to like kind" for the 1035 to apply. I'm not sure what to tell the annuity company because this does not appear to be a 1035 exchange and as for the 'account type',....even that is a bit confusing. Any thoughts?
